Artist

I live to dream of the future, for the collaboration of minds in all specialisms, the fusion of new and old technologies, the inspiration of design – from nature to data, the use of art for discovery and change – whether for social, environmental or to make someone smile.  My work is often manifested by projections, interventions or installations using animation, film and various technologies.  I sustain my practice by commission work as an artist or as a commercial producer, blending the two when it’s viable.  I am co-director of the Jam Jar Collective, with whom I do the majority of my education, consultancy and interactive work.

Please read my bio or see my artists statement for more information.

Work

I am currently researching interactive programming and working on a series of projections from moving vehicles. I recently acquired a rickshaw specifically for this practice. Please see the mobile projection introduction or the series section.

My work has strands pertaining to the identity of collective space, such as architecture, society or cities.  They are often defined and designed by the people who inhabit them.  I think of these spaces as canvases.

A few projects which depict this:

Bloom

Deep space sonic light installation – A rebirth of space

Wired WoodA flashmob, bluetooth, intervention of a small wood to evoke discussions around green space.

Authenticity

Re-animating of Leeds [UK] through a fictional history via submitted and collected stories.

A new aspect to my work seeks to explore the human interdependent relationship to technology.  This has been the core of my research for the past 4 years and now I hope to take the projects from paper to reality.

Laser 16mm (coming soon)
